Certifications & Training
Do I need experience to start scuba training?
No prior experience is required to start scuba diving. Entry‑level programs are designed for beginners and focus on building comfort, skills, and confidence in the water.
Which certification agencies do you teach and accept?
Scuba Star primarily teaches PADI courses but also recognizes certifications from other major agencies such as SSI, NAUI, SDI/TDI, RAID, and others for continuing education and guided training.
Why is it good that you recognize multiple certification agencies?
Recognizing multiple certification agencies allows divers to continue their education regardless of where they were originally certified. This flexibility supports traveling divers, cross‑training, and a more inclusive dive community.
How long does it take to get scuba certified?
Course length varies by program and student schedule. Open Water Diver certification typically takes several days, combining online learning, confined water sessions, and open water dives.
Training Environment & Safety
Where are training dives conducted?
Training dives are conducted at local South Florida dive sites selected for appropriate depth, conditions, and student comfort.
Is scuba diving safe?
Scuba diving is a safe activity when taught and practiced correctly. Scuba Star emphasizes proper training, equipment checks, dive planning, and conservative diving practices.
Are classes kept small?
Yes. We intentionally keep class sizes manageable to ensure personalized instruction and individual attention.

Do I need my own scuba gear for training?
Some personal items may be required, while other equipment is provided during training. Specific requirements vary by course and will be communicated during enrollment.
Do you offer rental equipment?
