Located just off the beach between Johnson and Michigan streets (behind the bandshell), there is a 32-foot-wide trail of cement blocks extending eastward. Originally, a large drainage pipe was covered with paving blocks held together by reinforcing steel. Over time, the pipe deteriorated and collapsed beneath the blocks. What remains is now a haven for tropical fish and a feeding ground for larger predators. The reef around the old pipe trench is filled with deep crevices, often inhabited by lobsters and resting nurse sharks
